Instructor Bios:

Sarah Pike is a full-time potter living and making pots in Fernie, British Columbia, Canada. She makes functional slab-built pottery in her home studio on an acre of land on the edge of a little ski town. Her pottery is inspired by many things, including the landscape around her home, the rich history of ceramics, but also by antique tinware, textured metal, and old things you might find in barns. She has taught workshops and exhibited her work across the US and Canada. Learn more about her work here.

Kala Stein is an artist and designer noted for innovative mold making and casting techniques. At the intersection of craft, design, and new technologies, her work explores notions of beauty through fabrication systems and materials. Kala received her MFA in Ceramics from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2009. She exhibits her work nationally and works with private clients on custom designs for the home and hospitality industry. After 7 years as the Director of Ceramics at Sonoma Community Center, Kala has recently returned to her studio practice full-time. Learn more about her work here.

Naomi Clement is a full-time artist based out of Stratford, Ontario. She received her BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in 2003, and her MFA from Louisiana State University. When she’s not in the studio making pots, Naomi is often found in front of her computer—either teaching virtual workshops or working on all the behind-the-scenes aspects of being a creative entrepreneur. She loves teaching workshops to help other potters find their voice as artists and pursue their creative careers with confidence. Learn more about her here.
