Exploring a different kind of functional work right now. Please stay home friends—if you absolutely must go out to get groceries wear one of these—there are lots of easy patterns on the inter-webs and some good no sew options too! . . My sister and dad are both front line workers; they are going to work everyday, literally risking their lives to keep us all healthy. Needless to say, I’m pretty worried about them. The very least we can do is stay home. To give you some perspective, here is a bit of what my sister had to say after her recent shift in the ER in Canada: “In a three hour shift, I saw two young people intubated and transferred out as our ICU is already full. Let me say that again: our ICU is already full. So why am I saying this? BECAUSE I NEED YOU ALL TO STAY HOME. I know this is harsh and it sucks, but it sucks a hell of a lot less than the alternative. So please stop taking your whole family to the grocery store. Stop going for runs and walks and popping out to the corner store for milk when you run out. I know it feels like I’m over-reacting but I also know that this is truly the only way to keep all of you safe and to squelch this thing.” . . Stay home and stay safe friends.
